2025 marks a very special year for me.
Some 20 years ago I founded my business, way back in 2005.

Firstly though - this year seems the perfect time to make a few changes and updates.
So to begin with I now have a new and improved website!
This is still very much a work in progress with so many ideas bouncing around my head to make it even more user friendly and informative for you.

As the years have passed my business has given me so much, thanks to my incredible clients and customers.

How my business started 20 years ago...
Over the next 12 months I will be sharing with you some landmark moments in my business story.
Of course I have to start with the beginning.
CHAPTER 1
Here I am with my little girl in 2005.
Alexandra, my first baby was 6 months old in this photo. Just one month before this, due to a twist of fate I had founded my business.
Not that I viewed it that way. There was no big business plan or great ambitious dream.
Having left my management position at Jo Malone in London, I was determined not to return to the commuting life after my maternity leave. Obviously this left a big whole in the family finances which I was happy to fill with any job that enabled me to see my baby as much as possible.
However, just before Alexandra arrived I had visited the hugely successful Beauty Within Beauty Salon, at that time the place to go in Tonbridge for every beauty treatment you could think of.
I was there for the obligatory pre birth waxing!! That day my therapist was the owner and founder of Beauty Within, Jayne Westguard. Surprisingly she recognised me from some work I did for her back when I was a newly qualified Beauty Therapist fresh out of West Kent College, 12 years before. Without hesitation she offered me a job once my baby was born. I instantly took her up on the offer.
A couple of months passed and I was loving being a new Mum but looking forward to the prospect of contributing to the household income.
However, I soon discovered that Jayne's business had sadly sustained terrible damage from a burst water tank in the roof, ruining the entire salon, just devastating. As a result I assumed that the job offer was no longer on the table, but I was wrong. Jayne had decided to try to hold on to as many of her clients as possible and was offering them treatments at her therapist's homes. She wanted to know if I was happy to see some of her clients. I jumped at the chance.
Retrieving my long neglected portable treatment couch, wax pot and electrolysis machine from the loft, I set about planning my new clients ( about a handful at this point) around my baby's nap times and my husbands shift patterns.
After a few weeks Jayne had decided that she would not be returning to her salon, it was time for pastures new. She very kindly gave me some items of equipment that she no longer needed, I compiled my first price list and I began to regularly treat that handful of clients...
And so I began, happily making some money for our little family, slowly but surely, as by the time Alex was 8 months old, baby number two was on the way.
